*Shim Sham Move Co., the Academy of Visual and Performing Arts Dance department, provides the student with a curriculum based on a solid technique background in traditional and non-traditional dance forms while developing a strong ability in dance performance and choreography. Students majoring in dance are enrolled in three to five dance courses per semester and are able and expected to audition for 2 major Dance Concerts as well as the spring Musical Theater production. Our students are taught by a professional staff and receive technical training in dance from the finest dance educators in Los Angeles, California and the Nation.

The Dance department, located in the rapidly growing Los Angeles dance community, is proud to be engaged with numerous professional organizations such as The Dance Camera West Film Festival, UCLA WAC Department, UCLA Arts Bridge program, as well involvement with Kele Kouleman Dance Company and World Champion Adagio Dancer Cate Caplain. The department is Chaired by Cari Ann Henderson, a UCLA Alumni and Professional Dancer & Choreographer.

The courses listed below are available to dance students. Each course is one semester long. The number of courses taken varies from student to student based on their emphasis in dance.
