The Academy of Visual and Performing Arts
Theatre department offers a balanced approach between academic
coursework and production experience. Students majoring in
theatre are enrolled in four theatre courses per year and
are able to audition for over 8 productions per season. Taught
by a professional staff, students receive an education in
theatre like none other.
The theatre department, located in the middle
of the Los Angeles theatre community, is proud to be engaged
with numerous professional organizations such as The Evidence
Room, MYE Theatre Company, ASK Theatre Projects, and The Center
Theatre Group.
The courses listed below are available
to theatre students. Each course is one semester long. The
number of courses taken varies from student to student based
on their emphasis in film.
