Jim Knight
(Producer)
Mr. Jim Knight
received his BA in History and M.Ed. from UCLA.
He received his MA in American Studies from Pepperdine
University. He is the Executive Director and the
Film Chair for the Academy. Mr. Knight teaches
film production and film history. He also is on
staff in the theatre department as a director
and technical director. He is a proud alumnus
of Culver City High School and was a former Los
Angeles County and Culver City Unified teacher
of the year. His directing credits in film include
"The Artist", "The Sweetest Thing",
"A Tribute to the Stars", and "Summer
in Switzerland". His directing credits in
the theatre include "Barefoot in the Park"
and "The Mousetrap". He served as the
technical director for "The Miracle Worker",
"The Wiz", "A Midsummer Night's
Dream", "Little Shop of Horrors",
"Crimes of the Heart", "Taming
of the Shrew", "Brighton Beach Memoirs",
and "Into the Woods". [top]

Darryl Hovis
(Technical Director)
Mr. Darryl Hovis
received his BA in history from Cal State Long
Beach. His training in theatre comes from South
Coast Repertory, La Jolla Playhouse, and UCSD.
He is the Artistic Director and the Theatre Chair
for the Academy. He teaches acting, theatre history,
stagecraft, and is in charge of the Academy's
Blurred Vision Theatre Company. His directing
credits include "The Miracle Worker",
"Into the Woods", "Crimes of the
Heart", "The Wiz", "The Diviners",
"A Midsummer Night's Dream", "A
History of the American Film", "The
Crucible", and "Little Shop of Horrors".

Omar Inguanzo
(Stage Manager/Asst. Director)
Mr. Omar Inguanzo
is a graduate of the film and theatre programs
at AVPA and is a graduate of the Los Angeles Film
School. He currently works throughout Southern
California as a sound designer, lighting designer,
and film editor. His theatre credits include "Into
the Woods", "The Wiz", "Pippin",
"Crimes of the Heart", "Java Drama",
"The Diviners", "A Midsummer Night's
Dream", "1984", "The Glass
Menagerie", "The Mousetrap", "The
Angelina Project", "Confirmation",
"Therese Raquin" (Chance Theatre), "One
Flea Spare", and "Flow My Tears the
Policeman Said" (The Evidence Room). His
film credits include "King of the Road"
and "the American Hero". He currently
works in both the film and theatre departments

Bart DeLorenzo
(Directing Mentor)
Mr. Bart DeLorenzo
received his BA in Literature and Theatre from
Yale and his Masters in Directing from Harvard.
He is the founder and Artistic Director of the
Evidence Room Theater. His directing credits include
"Flow My Tears the Policemen Said",
"One Flea Spare", "Almost Blue",
"A Bright Room Called Day", "Fifth
of July", "Don Juan", "The
Life of Stuff", "The Houseguests",
and "Swell". He has taught at Harvard
and UCLA. He is currently a guest director in
the theatre department and serves on the Academy's
